As this homepage shows, Tvindkraft was built by volunteers. Over the years a lot of people have enjoyed taking care of the windmill, mainly as volunteers and trainees.

Students and teachers from the schools in Tvind, from other schools, and from technical institutions have gained a lot of experience when joining the work of taking care that Tvindkraft produces as much clean energy as possible.

There are all sorts of jobs, such as cleaning, painting, lubrication and other routines, taking care of the many guests who come all the year around, developing the systems and test running of the new frequency converter.

As Tvindkraft is a prototype, there is not an extensive spare part store where each part has a replacement. So ingenuity is often required when parts stop working. We replace outdated systems and Allan produces parts in our workshop. We also enjoy a lot of support from small and big companies, who give us advice and parts, sometimes for free or at favourable prices. So you can develop you skills a lot with us.

Also we often study and discuss matters relating to the energy future of the modern world and share this knowledge with others. For example in November 2008 we took part in the Eurosolar Conference in Berlin on how to store energy, where 350 people met to hear and debate the latest news from experts in the field.
